Back in the day, our parents believed that there were only about 3 noble professions. You either chose to be a lawyer, a doctor, or an engineer.
Leemaoo. The Nigeria of today has taught us better. Youths have learned to carve out niches for themselves in spaces other than the professional world, and are now branching out into the likes of entertainment, influencing, modeling, and the like.
Today, we look at 5 professions that our parents do not consider Noble.
Let’s get into it…
1. Music/Entertainment
Imagine telling your Nigerian mother that you want to become a rapper or a DJ. Nibo???
2. Dancing
Hehe, Nigerian parents consider dancers as “alajota’s”. And it’s not their fault, they have just refused to believe that the world has evolved beyond their control.
3. Skit-making/comedy (Professions)
Na this one funny pass. Nigerian parents would even tell you you aren’t funny and your market won’t sell.
4. Content creation (Professions)
The explaining you’d have to do on this one is the one Peter Obi dey do for court. Because the only creator they know is God Almighty in heaven.
5. Influencing (Professions)
I’m sure the moment you mention influencing your parents, all that crosses their minds is “bad gang”. Little do they know that there is a lot of cash involved.
