Sometimes, it’s not about money. Sometimes it is about money sha
But packaging yourself starts with intention.
You don’t need a ₦300k wardrobe or spa subscription before you start looking put together. There are cost-effective ways to look polished, clean, and confident.
Let’s get into it:
1. Prioritize Your Skin
You don’t have to wait till you can afford a spa day before your skin glows. Get a good exfoliating scrub within ₦3,500-₦5,000.
If that one is still looking like luxury?
My dear, buy one correct local sponge and scrub away that dead skin respectfully.
Also moisturize. Drink water. Be consistent.
Soft skin is not reserved for influencers.
2. Smell Good (This One Is Non-Negotiable)
Smelling good does NOT mean your perfume must be ₦50k.
Get a solid antiperspirant, with a decent body spray and a simple body mist.
Layer them well and step out like a champ.
You’ll be shocked how many doors “you smell nice” can open.
3. Dress Well (Iron Is Free… Almost)
You can’t afford designer? No problem.
Thrift!
I repeat it again, thrift!!.
Also learn basic color combinations.
And please iron your clothes.
Throw out clothes that have faded, it’s not until we can’t tell if that cloth was originally blue or white.
Abeggg, let it go.
4. Be Knowledgeable
You don’t have to be an encyclopedia.
But please, know something.
Know small about trends, lifestyle, current gist, maybe even finance. Read. Watch. Observe.
Don’t be the one saying, “Wait, what happened?” every five minutes.
Fine + empty head is not the goal.
5. Fix Your Posture & Body Language
Packaging is not only clothes.
Stand straight. Stop bending that back of yours. Walk with intention.
You can wear the best outfit in the room, but if your shoulders are bent like an unpaid loan, you’ll be looking like low self esteem personified.
Confidence is free. Practice it.
6. Work on How You Speak
You don’t need fake accents.
We don’t need to hear “Innit”
Just speak clearly, avoid unnecessary shouting and learn to articulate your thoughts
Sometimes it’s not what you’re wearing, it’s how you’re expressing yourself.
Soft voice. Clear words. Direct eye contact.
That alone upgrades your presence.
