Friends With Benefits: Is It Truly Worth It?

*Clears throat* Besties, how are you all feeling today? It’s been raining a lot here lately sha but I’m not complaining. It’s better than the hellfire-like scorching sun.

Anyways, I came with violence today o and I’m shaking a major table. Yeah, it’s the Friends with Benefits table. I’d advise you to stand properly o because if not, you’d be massively falling off.

It’s common knowledge that friendships between the male and female gender took a different turn when the parties involved began to introduce benefits.

Hmmm, benefits you say? Simply hearing that made me assume it to be some poverty alleviation scheme. Iffa hear, sakamanje (lies). Until we realized it was all about helping one another in “za” other room.

At first, many rebelled against it. “Why would I be sleeping with my friend/best friend?” some quizzed. Others thought, “Oh, this might actually not be as bad as we thought”.

And just like that, it became a real thing. I even heard there are a few rules both parties need to play by *laughs in Spanish*. Nonetheless, the friends-with-benefits thingie has grown to become quite popular in certain parts of the world.

Many see it as a mechanism to rid themselves of the emotional trauma that accompanies relationships. Many are even pregnant and have kids by their so-called “friends”.

But in my humble opinion, I do feel like you could still be getting served breakfast either way. I mean, your friend might decide to fall in love with someone that’s not you. Ouch, that hurts, I can tell. Or they could get tired of you and want to move on to the next.

But have you ever considered the benefits in cash and not in kind? What happened to them helping you out of financial crisis? What happened to paying for vacations and that course you want to take? Getting you that ride you want??? And vice versa, as long as y’all can afford it.
All these and more are benefits as well don’t you think so?

They are your friends right, then allow them to be that without dragging you to “za” other room.
