The rain has been going on non-stop, and some of you are even beginning to question if Noah is building a new ark, especially people on Lagos Island.
To get to work has become such a hassle and you’re wondering what you would do if this rain persisted?
Well, it’s time to activate your Flood Mode.
Here’s your ultimate guide to surviving the splash.
Must have Items During this season
1. Power Bank
Best believe that NEPA will ghost you when you need them the most, so stay charged up and have backup power banks, incase anything happens.
2. Waterproof Bag
Now is not the time to carry your expensive bags all around. You need a bag that can protect all your gadgets and documents.
A Ziploc bag should become your new bestie.
3. Snacks
You need these to calm you down in time of chaos. At least, while it’s flooding outside, you can stay inside munching on good snacks.
4. Raincoats/Rainboots/Umbrella:
Steeze and composure can wait till after the rain, but you need to survive this season, and for that, you need a raincoat, rainboots and an umbrella.
Don’t worry, even if your crush sees you in any of these, he/she will understand.
5. A Small Canoe:
This is very necessary. Your cars cannot survive the deep water on the road, hence the need for a small cane to carry you from place to place.
Where to Go When the rain finally reaches your bed level
It’s no news that sometimes, when the rain persists, it could begin to get into houses, ruining things and getting everything wet.
We don’t want any of those happening to you, so this is a well curated list on places you can run to if this eventually happens.
1. High Ground: Look for elevated areas, rooftops, upstairs neighbors, hills.
If your house is downstairs, your japa plan better be upstairs.
2. Friends & Family: Preferably those who live in dry zones. Don’t be shy, this is not the time for pride. Cynthia Ofori go homeeee.
It’s better to be in your father’s house on the mainland than to be swallowed by flood on the mainland. Don’t worry, it’s only for a while.
Bonus Tips on How to survive the rain:
Don’t swim in floodwater: It’s not beach water; its bacteria infested.
Keep your phone location on: So, people can find you in case the flood carry you go where you no know
Avoid driving through deep water: Your car is not a submarine and you’re not Aquaman
