I’m pretty sure you’ve all seen the Labubu trend all over social media and you’re wondering, what this one is again?
Some might think Labubu is a pretty Bubu gown from one part of Africa with pretty African colours and patterns, or one fancy Bobba tea or even an international cuisine from Morocco, but guys think again!
People on X(Twitter} have also been dying to know what this famous Labubu is.
Labubu is a brand of collectible plush toy monster elves created by Hong kong designer. In other words, Labubu is just a scary ‘doll baby’
Now, to answer the big question, “why is Labubu suddenly trending in Nigeria and why are Nigerian babes going crazy over this doll?”
The craze started when influencers and celebrities began flaunting their Labubu dolls as fashion accessories, clipping them onto bags, styling them with outfits, and showing them off in TikTok videos.
Now, young Nigerians are rushing to get their hands on this toy, despite it being sold for ₦160,000 to ₦260,000, money for 32 inches Bone straight with small change for suya? omo, trend no go finish us for this country ooo.
Trust the x(Twitter) army to attack people purchasing this doll. They were not having it at allll, 260k toy, say wetin happen?
see what they had to say below:
I thought we all agreed that Annabelle dolls, and this labubu dolls are for westerners alone, we have our own plastic dolls and Labubu has got nothing on them!
omo, at this point, I’m convinced that Labubu blew powder on Nigerians, commanding them to buy it, because how else do you explain people willingly spending ₦260,000 on a stuffed monster that looks like it steals meat from the pot at midnight?
Well, I trust Aba men to make replicas in no time, whether it’s Labubu, or Ebube, many babes will buy just to post on social media.
