Hmmmm, Queens, there was a time when no one cared about skincare or having flawless skin.

We were okay basking in our natural skin, where our night routine used to be just plain body cream and powder.

But now, we use a lot of money to acquire skincare like land, even the step-by-step routine might be very hard for you to remember, omo wahala for people wey no know book oo.

Remember those days when even olive oil could be used instead of cream, and we would come out shinning even brighter than the sun, only thing is, they could fry small egg with the amount of oil on our faces.

Back then, our skin no dey vex, the skin sef didn’t need any care whatsoever, Pimples came and went without stress, our body soap sometimes even doubled as our shampoo.

Life was easy, extremely simple till skincare began to see the light of day!
Now, it’s a battle of the freshest skin.

One bottle of serum is now ₦18,500. You’ll apply it gently like you’re feeding a newborn.

Step one: cleanser
Step two: toner.
Step three: essence (what is that again?).
By step six, you’re already praying: “Lord, if I perish, I perish.”

You forget one step, and your skin starts breaking out.

Pressure Everywhere!

Everyone wants “glass skin.” My sister, I’m just trying not to look like fried plantain by 2 p.m.

Skincare influencers now sound like they’re preaching: “You must exfoliate thrice a week!” Okay, pastor of face, no wahala.

If it’s not “Made in Korea,” some people won’t even look at it.

Somebody will buy 3 creams, 2 oils, 1 mist, and still ask: “Why is my skin not giving?” If you be the skin, you go give???

Take me back to the good old days when skincare didn’t cost a fortune!

Well, Las las, we go still buy the skincare, because the weather these days is not the same as when we were kids, if you lososeguard this sun, you will regret it!
what went wrong!
