2019 seems to be the year, we will decide our own future.

1. The 'Not Too Young To Run' Bill

The 'Not Too Young To Run' Bill

When this bill was passed into law in the 5th month of 2018, Nigerian youths burst into a celebration because this meant we could finally have younger minds come forward to make crucial decisions in the government.

The bill has led to a lot of young people declaring intentions to emerge the next Nigerian President. People like Kingsley Moghalu, Oby Ezekwesili, Fela Durotoye and Donald Duke have come forward.

Do you think Nigerians would be bold enough to pick a young person as their president?

2. Atiku Vs. Buhari

Atiku Vs. Buhari

Atiku Abubakar has emerged the PDP presidential candidate while Buhari remains that of the APC. These two are undoubtedly the most talked about candidates in the presidential election due to the popularity of the parties they represent.

However, their competition goes deeper than that because it is no news that Buhari has the undying support of the people in the north due to this origin but with Atiku in the race, the north is now divided.

Who will emerge the King in The North?

3. New Party Endorses Ambode

New Party Endorses Ambode

It is not news that the All Progressives Party (APC) has decided to give it's support to Sanwo Olu in the 2019 gubernatorial elections, withdrawing it from Akinwunmi Ambode, which points to the obvious fact that Ambode will not have the second term he desires.

But does it?

A new political party called the People’s Trust (PT) has offered its 2019 governorship ticket to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and if he takes it, this would mean the governor will be back in the race, running against Sanwo Olu and ultimately against APC.

Wouldn't that be fun to watch?

4. Oby Ezekwesili has declares her intention to run.

Oby Ezekwesili has declares her intention to run.

Nigeria has been led by male presidents since she adopted democracy in 1999 and where has that gotten us? The Naira is 360 to 1 United States Dollar, petrol price is 145 per litre in an oil-producing county and our 75-year-old president wants to run for a 3rd term.

Isn't it about time we gave a female leader the chance to steer the country towards greatness?

And if you think she cannot do it entirely because she is a woman then you, my friend, are a misogynist.
