Honestly, we all enjoyed watching this 2018 blockbuster with our family and friends.
3.King of Boys
Of course, we all know Kemi Adetiba gives us a show whenever she releases any movie. King of boys, a political crime drama released in 2018 had breathtaking performances by sola sobowale, the drama queen herself.
This movie had us glued to our screens in an unhealthy way, because Kemi Adetiba is exactly who she thinks she is!
4.Isoken
This movie takes me back to the good ol’days with Nollywood.
A romantic drama that tackles societal pressure on women, released in 2017, and giving us a reason to think and.
Isoken was that movie, and the actors carried this movie like they were born for the role. Actors like Dore, Tina Mba, and the amazing Funke Akindele.
5.October 1
Released in 2014, this movie had us on our toes, wondering what was going to happen next.
This historical drama set in colonial Nigeria had fine like Ademola Adedoyin, Kayode Olaiya, Kehinde Bankole, among other amazing actors.

6.93 Days
Don’t lie, you cried when you watched this movie…yes, i cried too.
This medical thriller about Nigeria’s battle against Ebola directed and co-produced by Steve Gukas tells the story of the 2014 Ebola outbreak in Nigeria.
This movie hit close to home for Nigerians, because it revealed our fears and terror during the Ebola period.
Amazing actors like Gideon okeke, Bimbo Akintola, Danny Glover and so many more phenomenal actors that brought the movie to life.
7. The Wedding Party
This movie had us loving love like say no tomorrow. It broke box office records and opened our eyes to the beauty in Nollywood.
Our onscreen couple and real-life couple, Banky w and Adesua Etomi really did have us on chokehold in 2016.
Who didn’t watch this movie then? we all did!!
8. Anikulapo
Anikulapo, released in 2022 was more than just a film, it was a cultural event. Directed by Kunle Afolayan and streamed globally on Netflix, it showcased Yoruba heritage with epic storytelling, a stellar cast, and themes.
The fact that an indigenous language predominantly used in this movie was what stole the hearts of Nigerians away.
Seeing our Nollywood sweethearts, Kunle Remi and Bimbo Ademoye in the movie was amazing.
This movie just proved that Nollywood could produce epic, culturally rich films…and really, we’re nobody’s mate!!!
9. To Kill a Monkey
The movie that broke the internet! Talk of the town, one of the biggest movies of 2025.
Kemi Adetiba delivered the best of the best with this piece that had Nigerians and the world talking.
This movie made us all proud as a nation, and we give accolades to the phenomenal cast that brought the movie to life!
William Benson, Bucci Franklinn, Lilian Afegbai, Stella Damasus and other brilliant top actors brought their A-game to this movie. Speak of perfection!
Yer again, I ask, is Nollywood anybody’s mate?
10.A Tribe Called Judah
Released in December 2023 and directed by the phenomenal Funke Akindele, the film quickly became the highest-grossing Nigerian movie of all time, surpassing ₦1 billion at the box office.
This star-studded movie had us begging Funke Akindele for moreee!
With cast like Genoveva Umeh, Olumide Oworu. Jidekene Achufusi, Timini Egbuson, Nse Ikpe-Etim what would you expect? Nothing but the best of course!
