I still remember the year my office gave us Christmas vouchers from Shoprite.
For once, that very stingy office actually tried.

I didn’t have to stress or price-check endlessly. I walked in, picked my dream electronic, and it was serviced, packaged, and ready to go.
No long stories.
It was a good feeling.

2. Tobi -Pastries

I work remotely, and whenever I needed a change of environment, I’d head to the mall.
Not for shopping. Just to breathe small.

I’d get pastries from Shoprite, find a quiet spot, and work. It became my little guilty pleasure, nothing dramatic, just comfort. Having that taken away feels like losing a small escape.

3. Kelechi – Toys & Household Items

Every festive season, taking my children to Shoprite to pick out toys became a tradition.
They looked forward to it every year.

And honestly, I did too, especially during Black Friday. Discounts over 30%? I never missed it. From household items to gifts, it was always worth the trip.

4. Ayo – Feeling Bougie

I vividly remember the first time I ever bought something from Shoprite.
After that, their nylon bags became special.

I reserved them for important errands only. Not every outing deserved that nylon. Carrying it made me feel bougie, like I had entered a higher level of society. Those were small things, but as a child, they meant a lot.
Truly dope memories.
