Because forming strong head is our national identity.
If there’s one thing we know how to do, it’s pretend.
We’ll act like we’re tough, emotionally stable, immune to stress, and “okay with whatever life brings.”
Dat na lie.
Pure unadulterated lies.
Deep down, there are certain things we ALL secretly desire, but will never boldly say out loud because, you know… pride, packaging, and fear of looking “soft.”
Let’s dive in to the things we really want but will never admit
1. Nigerians Want Soft Life, But Will Pretend Hard Work Is the Goal
Truth is:
We want soft life. We deserve soft life. We were BORN for soft life.
But no, some children of men will be shouting:
“Hard work builds character!”
“My hustle is my pride!”
Oga relax.
If we’re being honest, Nigerians want a life where money enters while we’re lying on a bed, and scrolling Instagram.
2. Nigerians Want Peaceful Jobs That Won’t Squeeze Their Soul
We pretend we’re built for stressful work environments.
We brag about waking up at 4AM.
We “humble brag” about working under pressure.
But deep down?
We want hybrid jobs with zero drama and a salary that is paid early
We want peace, biko.
But we’ll never admit it because we must appear “strong.”
3. Nigerians Want Enjoyment, Nonstop
We pretend we can say no to enjoyment.
But once the weekend hits? Eiiiiiii
We’re outside.
We’re inside.
We’re everywhere.
We were not built for suffering.
It is enjoyment we want, but we’ll never admit.
4. Nigerians Want Love, I’m talking About Real Love
We’ll act like relationships don’t faze us.
We’ll say “love is overrated,” meanwhile we’re secretly praying for someone that will call us “baby” every morning.
We want love.
Soft love.
Spoil-me-love.
Not all this “what do you bring to the table?” mumu mumu kind of love.
At the end of the day, Nigerians love forming strong-head.
But deep down?
We were not built for suffering.
It is enjoyment we want, but we’ll never admit it so we don’t look unserious.
