If you’re a Nigerian and you have ever said any bad thing about these foods I’m about to mention, then you’re just plain ungrateful! Because, once or twice, in your very terrible state of sapa, these delicacies have come through for you!
Sit back, relax and show some gratitude and respect to the list of delicacies I’m about to mention:
1. Beans
Remember when you had nothing and that cup of beans saved you? You boiled it and just added a little oil remaining in your bottle, and just like that, hunger vanished!?
Yes, beans should never be spoken badly about by Nigerians, because how dare you!
Now, you have money and when they ask what your favourite food is, you’ll say “Alfredo pasta”…have you forgotten beans your helper?
Na why them no dey help poor people ooooo
2. Bread and Akara
Bread 300, Akara 300, pure water 50 Naira, and just like that you’ve eaten something!
This food has probably come through for you so many times, saved you from hunger, and now you’ve made it you’re saying “Oh, that food is so starchy, too oily, very unhealthy” see your mouth!
No Akara and bread slander will be tolerated here please.
3. Pap
I honestly side eye people who do not like pap, like such person cannot be trusted.
You don’t like pap? What do you like then! Pap is like the OG cereal in Nigeria, stop playing!
Cornflakes and oats keh, wen pap dey?
4. Rice and Stew
Till date, this combo still remains the king of sundays.
I honestly do not think a Nigerian should have anything bad to say against the world-famous rice and stew combo.
It doesn’t matter what your financial status is, Rice is always available for you. It bangs, whichever way you decide to cook it.
5. Garri and Groundnut
The father that fathered their father, the king of the Nigerian food space.
You’ve just got to love the classic Garri and groundnut combo.
No Nigerian, whether young, old, rich, poor, tall, short, should have anything bad to say against dear old Garri.
Garri no get enemy at all!
6. Yam and Palm oil
Plain old yam and palm oil without all the too much serenren we try to do these days is that combo that every Nigerian loves.
Some people say they don’t like yam, and I just side eye them like “Are you joking”.
Yam is the GOAT!
Now you Know the food combos you cannot slander! So, if you mistakenly slander any of these delicacies, we will come for you.
