Let’s face it, Gen Zs keep inventing new slangs every day and the millennials are struggling to keep up.

Don’t worry millennials, I’ve got you covered.

Here’s a quick guide on Gen Z slangs and what exactly they mean, so you don’t get lost in conversation next time.

1. CLOCK IT!

When a Gen Z tells you to clock it, you better clock it!

The slang “Clock it” means you should understand it, you should get it, you should grab it…Clock that thing!

so, dear millennial, the next time a gen z tells you to clock it, you better do.

2. RIZZ

Has a Gen z ever told you you’ve got Rizz? Well, that Rizz means Charisma, Game, the ability to flirt without stress!

Let me break this bad news to you though, if you have to ask if you’ve got Rizz, then you probably don’t have it. “If e didn’t dey, e didn’t dey”

3.  MID

n

This simply means you’re just there, nothing interesting about you, I wouldn’t look at you twice!

If a Gen Z has ever called you Mid, then that just means you’re too boring, and you need to step it up! We don’t do mid stuff over here.

4. TOUCH GRASS

I’m very sure millennials would go out and literally begin to touch grass…haaaaa you go calm down ooo.

When you’re told to touch grass, it simply means you should log off and get a reality check ASAP!

For example, when someone begins to obsess over a lot of ridiculous things on the internet, you can simply tell them to “Touch grass” breathe in fresh air and reboot.

5. Delusional  DELULU

This is one of Gen Z’s greatest hits. It’s short for “delusional,” but used playfully. Like when someone thinks their crush is secretly in love with them based on one Instagram like. That’s being delulu.

They would always say “Delulu is the solulu” which means fantasy can be quite better than reality.

6. SIMP

First things first, who is a simp?

A simp is someone who is so hopelessly devoted to someone else in a romantic way that they begin to come up with different unreasonable lines like “i can’t breathe when you’re not here” “You are my life, the chilled zobo to my agege bread” hmmmmm…when he/she begins to seem a little too obsessed over you, and you don’t even feel the same way at all or reciprocate it, then congratulations, you have yourself a SIMP!

Don’t get it twisted, a simp isn’t just romantic, a simp is extra extra.

7. SUS

In simple terms, you give off suspicious, shady and sketchy! You’d often hear something like “You’re kinda sus”

Nope, it’s not a compliment, it’s a gen z way of saying ‘I don’t trust you at all oga, go front’

Now you know all there is to know when it comes to Gen Z slangs, so you can keep up and not get lost mid conversation. If you also want to use these slangs, you better know the particular context to use it before you fall my hand outside.

Study this guide very well and become a pro!

Don’t ever say I never did anything for you…Oya say thank you!
