Davido performs at the O2 arena again… Do you think he has outgrown it as an artiste?

Congratulations to our very own OBO A.K.A Davido who just shutdown the O2 Arena for the third time in his career. First in 2019, then in 2022 and most recently on the 28th of January, 2024.

But while this is still a great achievement nonetheless, I’m sure that I’m not the only one who thinks it’s about time for Davido to shoot higher with his ambitions stage wise.

I mean… There are the likes of Burna Boy and Wizkid who are his biggest competition in the Afrobeats space, that have gone to headline stadiums on their own. With Wizkid shutting down the 70,000 Tottenham Hotspur stadium in London in 2023 and Burna also filling up a 80,000 capacity West Ham United stadium in that same 2023, it almost seems like Davido isn’t confident in his ability to pull such a crowd especially outside Nigeria. This isn’t a good look for him and his status as “001”.

Personally, I think Davido should go for it and he might just be shocked with how many active 30BG fans are waiting around the world. Especially with his hit song “Unavailable” still getting a lot of love worldwide, including the Rihanna co-sign that has given it another level of global acceptance.

The O2 has served it’s time for OBO, he should move on from it. Plus he already has a private jet so aiming for the skies shouldn’t be an issue for him.
