Have You Ever Been Served Friendship Breakfast?

Have You Ever Been Served Friendship Breakfast?

I was surfing the internet over the weekend and stumbled upon the post of a popular hair vendor, Bo Hairs, who, apparently used to be best friends with Hilda Baci, the Guinness World Record Holder.

According to her, a third lady, Ama Reginald came along and allegedly “stole” Hilda from her. She described the events that eventually led to the breakup as a slow and painful one. In her defense, she blocked both of them off for her peace of mind.

And this just brought me to the realization that friendship breakfasts do happen. It explains why a lot of people do gate-keep their friends. Initially, I found it weird.

I mean, no one owns anyone and people are free to be friends with whoever they want. But I was wrong because this shii runs deeper than I could have ever imagined.

I’ve heard ladies say in the past that their best friends are not allowed to have other friends. Others would say that they can’t keep a string of 3 friends as it never ends well. Taking it back to the days of our parents, how did they manage to maintain decade-long friendships?

Have You Ever Been Served Friendship Breakfast?

My father recently attended the wedding ceremony of one of his friend’s daughters. They have been friends for 47 years and his friend hasn’t even been in the country. I trust my generation, for where you see that distance gan gan is the first barrier/excuse.

These days, keeping friendships has become tougher than it should. It’s even crazier because most are carrying baggage from their past friendship heartbreaks. From broken promises to lies, deceit, betrayal, jealousy… tbh, the list is endless.

Many have further confirmed that the hurt from a romantic breakfast is nothing compared to friendship breakfasts. The truth is, hurt people hurt people, so until you’re completely healed from the pain you suffered from your last friendship heartbreak, don’t commit to another.

At least this way, we can all keep our sanities intact.

Ire o (Bye)!
