Omah Lay IS Not Alone; We All Need A "Soso" In Our Lives

At this point, even IDAN needs a soso in their life to take all the pain away, because IDAN is going through it.

When the 25-year-old Afro-fusion artist came through with his chart-topping track, Soso in 2022, we were all taken aback, as to what he was on about again.

Soso ke? The only thing close to Soso we know of is the Sosoliso crash that occurred 18 years ago (God rest the souls of the departed). However, as time went by, and we listened deeper, it became clearer what Omah Lay, whose real name is Stanley Omah Didia, was raving about.

His pains! The brother needed to let it all out before ment starts to creep in. (Sodiq Ologbon)

And just like Omah Lay, we all need a Soso in our lives, who would magically suck our pains away. Depending on the individual, Soso could mean money, love, attention, mental stability, wellness, sound health, education, peace of
Mind… The list is almost endless.

But while we are on our quest for Soso, we all need to draw the lines between reality and the seemingly endless possibilities of the world of social media. Many get drawn into that world, forgetting that there is a thing such as time.

So unless you have a Time Machine, you have to wait for yours. That is, of course, if you have properly set personal goals and are ready to pace yourself.

This reminds me of a lady, who had always wanted to become one of the top influencers on the gram. She stumbled on the page of a micro-influencer, who was only 6 months in the game but had just secured a house in her choice area and a Benz.

This lady got furious and decided to venture into that which only made her attractive to her village people. She fell into the hands of fraudsters, who promised her Sakamanje visibility on social media.

My dear, your villagers were on their own before you went and drew them like a Tiger generator. It was later realized that the idol influencer was into fraud and that was how she secured her properties.

In other news, it is easy to fall into depression, only when we refuse to recognize what is real. Away from
Social media brouhaha, there are times when it seems as though nothing is working out. Living in Nigeria is enough to make you think that fuel subsidy is the best thing since Agege bread.

Here are a few steps you can take whenever you feel like you’re stuck;

  • Identify what you truly want
  • Move your body from your comfort zone
  • Gone on a date; take a walk with nature
  • Rest, recharge, and focus on self-care
  • Do a gap analysis
  • Don’t beat yourself up, you probably have it better than most
  • Do not blame others
  • Never doubt your abilities

So let’s all chill, relax, and take a breather, as we continue in our quest for Soso. Don’t say I did nothing for you bestie *xoxo*
