Nigerian singer Ruger has parted ways with D’Prince and the Jonzing world record label, and it seems they ended on a bad note.
The talented singer was discovered and signed to Jonzing World by D’Prince in January 2021. During his three-year tenure with the label, he released two EPs, one album, and numerous hits like “Bounce,” “Dior,” and “Asiwaju.”
Ruger’s departure raises questions about why he would leave when experiencing such success. In January 2024, he announced his own record label, “Blown Boy Records,” and recently released a freestyle many speculate to be aimed at his former label boss.
In the freestyle, he stated, “I’m now fighting with every n!gga I fvcked with” and “I denounce every loyalty to some Godfather,” suggesting an altercation with D’Prince prompted his departure.
