The N100 Million Fugazi – Davido & TG Omori’s Feel Music Video

Feel probably had the most anticipated music video of 2023. Earlier in the year, there was a fast-spreading rumor that Davido ponied up the sum of a 100 Million Naira to TG Omori who was to be the Director of the music video which easily got people talking.

There was tons of speculation and conversation about whether or not TG Omori would be able to deliver a music video that would truly be worth a 100 Million Naira and why he’d even deserve such an amount to start with. Trust twitterNG to question the 2-time Bet awards winner’s sanity as to why he’d pay such a huge amount for a “music video”.

About six months after the release of the song, Davido finally teased us through his social media pages with the trailer of the music video which had everybody, again, on their feet waiting for what might be the video of the year.

Well, the video is finally out but was it worth the budget it was proposed for ?

Let’s break it down. TG Omori is famously known for assembling what might be referred to as a whole city for his music videos which would naturally eat a fair amount into the budget as he’d have to pay everybody, but is that enough ? No, it’s not.Feel BTS

The set design was my favorite thing about this video. How TG Omori is able to think of these crazy concepts for his sets shows how artistic he is. This is a major reason he charges so high. It was nicely done. However, elaborate set design alone doesn’t justify such an amount.

Feel is an energetic song and ideally a music video should be a visual representation of the emotion the song gives a person.

Never judge a book by its cover because if you did with the trailer TG Omori did in anticipation of the video, well.

The music video starts off with a train scene where people seem to be fighting to get on a train. The chaos of that scene was beautiful. Coming next to that was what appeared to be Davido concocting a plan to get his lover – who was played by his wife’s beautiful younger sister – out of a refugee camp but we have no idea how he got there and whether or not she was in danger. The video after that just seemed to take a dive with scenes that had no connection to the storyline he earlier established.

TG Omori’s aim was to tell a love story, according to him, “..a love story they would FEEL.” except he didn’t give the story any context, it was one thing and then the next. No true definition.

There are so many questions as to reasons for certain scenes and how they add up and if after watching the video, there’s still no explanation then you failed to do your job correctly as the Director of such an expensive music video.

Feel music video feel music video Davido, in my opinion, is OBO and because this is his best performing album didn’t mind the extra buzz such news would give him. Or could it be the VFX that makes that a worthy price tag ? I don’t think so. They’ve done more and better for less.

In summary, though the video has over 5 million views on youtube since it was released five days ago, better music videos have been released this year.

I think you should go watch it for yourself if you haven’t, maybe you’d FEEL it is perfect for the amount.
