When Tems first came into the limelight, in 2018, naysayers said she was different. Most music producers refused to work with her owing to the uniqueness of her vocals but Wizkid dared to see something different in her and went for it.

He featured her in the track “Essence” which has gone on to become a global success and was certified the official summer jam of the year 2021 by American record producer and rapper, Swizz Beatz.

“Essence” is not only a feel-good song but also one with captivating vocals and addictive lyrics. It was taken off Wzkid’s “Made In Lagos” studio album.

On the 8th of March, 2024, Tems received the Breakthrough Award at Billboard Women in Music.

“In Love” was such a masterpiece released in 2019, and everyone could not get over the duo for such a long while. Wizkid did an amazing job by collaborating with the multi-talented singer, Seyi Shay in the afrobeat/RnB track.

Spellz takes production credit for the song.

While Wizkid may have featured many female singers internationally and has been featured in quite several songs locally by females in the music industry, he has only featured 3 female Nigerian singers in his songs.
