Ojude Oba is not just an event, it’s fashion, culture, steeze, heat, and survival all packed together.
And because this Lagos/Ogun sun has no respect for anybody, here are things you absolutely need before stepping out:
1. Sunscreen
My dear, apply sunscreen generously.
You didn’t come to Ojude Oba to return home looking roasted. The sun is attending the event too, and it didn’t come to play.
2. Face Cap
After taking your fine pictures, abeg wear that face cap.
Yes, we know it may not match your native attire perfectly, but your health before steeze please
3. Water Bottle
Dehydration is not a flex o.
Take water along because finding water at crowded events can suddenly become mission impossible.
And if you don’t have a fancy bottle, that empty soft drink bottle can still serve purpose today.
4. Umbrella
If a face cap isn’t your thing, carry an umbrella.
At all at all, e no bad.
Better small shade than fainting with composure.
5. Comfortable Footwear
This is not the time for heels that were engineered by suffering.
If you must wear stylish shoes, please carry slippers or palm sandals as backup because your legs will eventually cry for help.
6. Power Bank
You already know Nigeria and electricity are not best friends.
Carry your power bank because once your phone dies at Ojude Oba, na only God fit save you
7. Rechargeable Portable Fan
Please don’t assume the breeze will be blowing naturally.
Carry your portable fan and blow yourself small air before body temperature starts competing with boiling water.
Las Las
Most importantly, come prepared to enjoy yourself
Take pictures, eat good food, admire the fashion, and remember to stay hydrated because this heat is doing too much already.
