Wait, you thought It Was Over??

Immediately Lola closed from work that day, she called her cab driver to take her straight to Ijebu.

When she got to the house her mother was all dressed waiting for her “Oya let’s start going fast before Woli gets too occupied” She said dragging a very exhausted Lola by the hand, but Lola didn’t care, all she wanted was for those ladies to get a taste of their own medicine and not mess with her again.

Woli’s office smelled like burning incense with a soft mixture of candle wax, a smell that was overpowering and hard to ignore. “Mami I cannot breathe” an almost out of breath Lola said.

Her mother gave her the typical African mother look as her eyes flickered up and down like the National grid

“You better calm down and bear it, let Woli help us deal with those people”

Lola had no choice, she greeted Woli following her mother’s footsteps.

Woli barely raised his head to acknowledge the greeting; he was apparently caught in his prayers or meditation.

“ Ehh Woli, this is my daughter, Omolola, the one I told you about”

Lola’s Mother said in a subtle voice.

Woli Kept his eyes close as he responded to my mother.

Omo mi, they’re fighting you in the office abi?

They want you to leave the office for them, but Olorun oni gba, God won’t agree.

Oya kunle, go on your knees!” he commanded in a strong voice.

Atheist Lola quickly went on her knees, wondering how she went from a woke unbeliever to kneeling in Woli’s choking office.

Woli brought out the incense and began to move it in a circular motion around Lola, he chanted some things in Yoruba language that even Lola couldn’t understand, but she sure she clearly heard Angel Michael a couple of times.

Woli brought out a long Nigerian cane, and sprinkled it with holy water, he said some things over and over again, and finally placed it on the table where a red candle was lit.

Oya take this paper, write their names down and place it under the cane”

Lola did this immediately, she knew their names and even their surnames, even if Woli wanted pictures of them, she was ready to deliver.

The more she remembered the wicked scenario this morning, the angrier she got, how could they even hate her to that extent sef, what did she do to them, she wondered with tears in her eyes.

omo mi eh! Don’t you dare cry, we will not give in to defeat at all.

Shebi they love canes, we’ll show them what canes can do” Woli said with a smile on his face.

Oya get up, take this Holy water, when you go back to your house in Lagos, pray psalm 35, and spray this round your home to send evil away”

Lola collected the holy water quickly, anything to make her feel safe at home. “Thank you Woli” she said

Woli ese gaan. Thank you” Lola’s mother said.

Lola and her mother went back home, the both of them happy to be able to retaliate to evil.

That night as Lola was fast asleep in her mother’s house, she could smell the strong incense in Woli’s office. It suddenly, felt like she was out of her body, although, she could see herself sleeping on the bed, but here she was holding the cane Woli had kept on the table.

She walked around slowly but curiously as she found herself in another room with four women bound with tight ropes, unable to move.

Lola recognized these faces very well, she was almost too excited to believe what was happening,

just like the bible had said, “God will deliver your enemies into your hands”

Lola raised the cane without any restraints, she flogged and flogged and flogged each one of them, enjoying each whip of the cane, enjoying them beg her with such desperation.

“What did I ever do to you witches, eh, what!

You just decided to taunt me for no reason.

Now listen, this is just the beginning, if any of you come close to me again, it’ll be worse than canes, I promise”

Lola Jolted from her deep sleep at past 5.

She knew exactly what happened, almost as if she had done it while awake. She smiled to herself.

A call immediately came in “Lola please, I beg you, ahh Lola, I beg you, I’m sorry for whatever I did to you, I apologize, please, I beg you” Her colleague begged in between uncontrollable sobs.

Lola ended the call smiling

She opened her messages and proceeded to read the epistles her three other female colleagues had sent her pleading.

She put her phone on Do not disturb as she closed her eyes to sleep.

Afterall, AURA FOR AURA was the best, and sometimes, paying EVIL FOR EVIL can be sweet!
