You see fashion? Leave it for Nigeria abeg!

The glitz, the glam, the fashion, Lagos showcased all these and more at the Lagos fashion week, 2025
The just concluded Lagos fashion week was indeed one for the books, scratch that, it was one for the archives, the documentaries, the fashion textbooks! If you missed it, just know you missed a cultural reset.

From October 29th to November 2nd, the largest and most influential annual fashion event which started on the 29th of October and ended on the 2nd of November, had not just Africa, but the whole world wondering if indeed, fashion originated from Nigeria, because the creativity, the craftsmanship, the confidence, everything screamed originality and excellence.

Designers? Oh, they ate!

Names like Emmy kasbit, Fruche, Hertunba, Kadiju, Kilentar, Lisa folawiyo, orange culture, Ori-re and a host of other phenomenal designers lit up the Lagos runway with collections that had jaws dropping and phones snapping. Every piece told a story…imagine storytelling with fashion!

Lagos Turned Up!

It felt like the entire Lagos showed up, and if you weren’t there or following online, then you probably don’t know what’s up, and we’re side eyeing you respectfully.

Celebrities Took Over the Runway

Our faves didn’t just come to sit and watch, they also hit the runway, strutting and showing us that asides being just celebrities, they can walk the walk and strut the strut!
Hilda Baci definitely showed us that what a smoky world breaking jollof pot can do, a hot body can do better! Our chef was graceful on that runway…safe to say “she cooked” again!

Designs that made us Gasp

The styles this year? Innovative doesn’t even cut it. It was giving futuristic couture meets Afrocentric royalty. I genuinely wanted to crawl into the minds of these designers and just sit there like, “So this is where magic lives?”

The Models didn’t Come to Play

I must also say that the models on the runway did not even come to play at all, they were giving “this is my runway, and I will do my thing” their confidence level was definitely over the roof.

I mean, why wouldn’t you be confident when only you hot like 50 people?

Ciara? Our Babe Did That

Ciara in Fruche

As a sharp Nigerian babe (if I do say so myself) Ciara walked that runway with grace and poise and I absolutely loved the song she walked with. If I had my white handkerchief and Igbo wrapper there, I’d have started dancing ASAP!

Ciarachukwu, Oluwaciara, did such a good job on the runway.

All in all, Lagos fashion Week 2025 was a cultural celebration of style, identity, and pure Nigerian excellence. We’re already counting down to next year, because if this was the appetizer, 2026 is about to be the main course!
